Levi Reference Sheet by Dancing-Sword Levi Reference Sheet by Dancing-Sword
Man, I made this guy back in May I think. I did him for a OCT that I thought of joining. Of course, the thing fell through before it even began and I ended up not posting him. Iím posting him now since Iím thinking of joining a new one ( :iconwispoct: ). This is kind of old, so I don't know if I should update this or not.

EDIT 1/9/2011: Extra information cleaned up and edited to better balance out Levi. I might do it again later.

EDIT 6/26/11: So I'm finally posting this in the gallery. Feels weird having joined the thing early, but am submitting my work very close to the deadline. I'll definitely try to get more info on Levi tomorrow.

Audtion Page 1: [LINK]

EXTRA INFORMATION (not in any particular order)

Random Information
- Levi is in his early twenties.
- The boots are leather on the outside to reinforce the normal HAZMAT material.
- There is a air-tight zipper on his HAZMAT suit going from his left shoulder to his right waistline.
- Chemicals currently in Leviís system: Acetone, Arsine, Lye, Chloroform (all in limited amounts and listed from most to least for amount within Levi)

Chemical Information Expanded
- To expand on his disease resistance, it can be better explained that his body has adapted to utilizing the chemicals he has absorbed to sterilize his body and fight viruses and such that arenít normal used by the body. Without all the stuff flowing through his system, he would be perfectly healthy with normal immune system.
- While there are several ways Levi can release chemicals, he mainly uses two; releasing them as gases through his skin or his breath. By releasing it through the skin he is essentially expanding the cloud of poison around him, albeit only a slight amount. By using his breath he can release it in a concentrated amount, but the stream only extends to about 2 feet and its effectiveness diminishes quickly over that two feet.
- It should be also noted that while Levi can absorb chemicals with ease, he doesn't have complete control with the release mechanism. Sometime he can control a release of chemicals while many other times he can't. This fact doesn't stop the constant release his body is doing naturally.
- Similar to the fact about his breath move, the hazardous area around Levi diminishes in danger over distance and the poison will continue to dilute depending on how long he has been exposed to the open air.

- He has very little hand-to-hand training.
- He isnít the most athletic person.
- The ballistics armor limits his dexterity and speed somewhat.
- He is limited to close range combat.
- He has limited control of his powers.
- Bullets and blades are effective against his HAZMAT suit, but his ballistic armor can stop it. Blunt/smashing weapons work better since they are made to crush rather than pierce so their force still transfers to his body.
- A quick wikipedia search will reveal that the two most common chemicals within Levi are highly flammable gases. While this doesnít mean he will catch on fire, there will be a burst of flames when the gases come in contact with a spark or fire. The size of the burst depends on the size of the exposure (a cut in his suit will cause a miniature burst while there will be a small explosion if his torso is exposed).

Dude. AUGH. AUGUGAH I hope you get in. This is insane how well done this reference sheet is, AND how creative the character is dude!

I'm literally bouncing in my seat, hoping you get in.

Oh my gosh.

And, and, does it make me a geek that I read his whole ref in a computing, female voice complete with the background sounds of keyboard typing? ^^;
(crosses fingers, hoping you get in)

Since you say you've toned him down, I'd like to ask, just how bad was he overpowered? Just curious, and for the record, he seems well balanced. Ha ha, kinda like one of those false sense of security boss fights:
>Have a rather easy fight, then remove outer armor
>Can't get too close to the still rather meek fighter, as his very atmosphere can kill ya

I love it. I'm planning out so many different scenarios in my head not only withmycharacterbutwiththeothercharactersinthetourneyandit'ssoawesomeseeingallthedifferentfightscenariosand I'll just hush up now ^^;

The kind of thought he was overpowered because of the poison/disease thing. Like if his suit got punctured at all, it could be seen as spelling instant death to normal competitors. Kind of balanced it out with the whole making him partially flammable and the limited abilities at the beginnig.

This is a really interesting character. I like him.

That's the second time a character has been accepted then denied after the judges changed their mind, or properly reviewed a character o.o;

I like his design but, what exactly are his weaknesses? It says he's immune, is more or less bullet and blade proof, and can send out rather deadly and powerful gases. The only thing that actually affects him is objects you smash his head with, but that's not really a weakness as it is a given. I mean, for example say you put that your character dies if they get their head cut off. That's normal for almost anything, so that's not really a weakness. That's normal. So what exactly is this guy weak to? Being a 'caring person' is more of a personality trait than a true weakness for that matter.

Yeah, I noticed. XD

Thanks for pointing this out. I guess I didn't realize that I didn't include the weaknesses. I talked to one of the judges asking about some ideas I had to balance him, restricting his powers and ways to counter him. I'll change some of the text in the image eventually, after I get everything sorted out and all.

i like the idea for the whole reference sheet.
Mind if i ask you some information about this "wips" ?
it seems intriguing
Dancing-Sword Featured By Owner Jan 5, 2011

Wisp is an OCT or Original Character Tournament. Each participant creates a character or group of characters to participate in it. You can find more information on the TV Tropes page since it seems to explain it better. If you want to look at some examples (upcoming, current, and past OCTs) or even join one, check out :iconoctfollowers:. They have a lot of information there too about how they work and all.

If you want info on Wisp specifically, I have a link to it in the description and in my latest journal entry.
